Andy Trickett has been riding motorcycles for eons, His previous bikes include a Suzuki GSX 550, Honda VFR 750, Honda 750 Shadow and a Honda CBR 1100 XXX Blackbird. Andy is really looking forward to the challenge of riding almost 15,000 miles with only the clothing and equipment that he and Kevin can carry on their Bikes. When interviewed by the BBC, Andy was asked about the various problems that they may encounter. “It’s not going to be easy and no doubt there will be problems that we will encounter en-route, but both of us are preparing mentally and physically for the trip and I am sure we will be able to work as a team and get past any obstacles that may present themselves to us”. Andy is looking forward to riding as much as the trip as possible “without having to use Motorways, Auto-routes or Autobahns” and being able to experience the differences in the cultures of each country that they visit.
Kevin Dixon-Nutt has owned a number of bikes including Harley Davidson’s, Ducatis, and Aprilias. He has travelled extensively on Harley Davidson Tours throughout Europe and UK. As a competitive sportsman, Kevin has enjoyed several track days on his bikes and also with Ferrari in the amateur GT Challenge . He is very enthusiastic about the journey and thinks that ‘The E.U. Tour 2007’ is a great way of combining a trip of a lifetime with raising money for charity. “The challenges that we faced in extreme weather on our ride back from Scotland were a real test of what we might encounter next year, having to change our route at the last minute was a safety call, it was too dangerous to stay on the M74, so we re-vamped our route and carried on using the B road which was sheltered from the wind and almost had all to ourselves”.
